A fantastic, buzzing little corner noodle shop. The service is friendly and fast, the food freshly cooked and they have all the classics - Fishball noodles (mein, mai fun, ho fun), wonton noodles, beef brisket noodles and jah jiang mein - all a bargain at HKD38 for a massive bowl. Add HKD 22 for a side dish of vegetables and a drink. The waitress even spoke really good English which helped me no end! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Chan Yee Hing, well-known for its Chiu Chow cuisine since decades ago, has expanded its empire to another genre - beef noodles. Beef dishes were served with lettuce and radish. Lean Beef Brisket Instead of being "lean", it was a combination of meat, tendons and fat. Extra tender and moist brisket with gelatinous tendons. A fulfilling dish. Beef Throat A rare cut. Was guessing it'd be a bit of a chew but turned out it was a part layered with velvety meat, tendons, fat and crunchy bones. The flavors of the spices had been well-absorbed especially in the meat. Must-try. All of the Above A deep-fried snack platter with fish skin, wonton, fish fritter, cuttlefish fritter, octopus ball and prawn fritter. Served piping hot. Bouncy fritters. They offer a range of HK style drinks, of which we picked black coffee with lemon and sprite with salted lime. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $150–200 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
