Returning to Gu Zao Ren after almost a decade brought back a rush of wonderful memories. The sweet potato porridge is exactly the same—simple, warm, and deeply comforting. The star remains the braised pork belly (kong bak), with its melt-in-the-mouth fat and flavourful preserved vegetables. The hotplate egg tofu and the robust, dark sauce stir-fried pork liver hit all the right savoury notes. The dark, glossy soy-marinated cockles pack an incredible umami punch. Went on a Monday night around 10pm as was craving for something warm. Amazing choice compared to the usual supper places. Must get the cereal chicken so yummy! Sat outside, was cooling at night :) will be back again! Meal type: Other Price per person: SGD 10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Had a very yummy supper at this spot! Seriously very impressed by the spacious restaurant and there is parking available for diners. Their menu is extensive and has all my favourite tze char dishes. The meat are cooked well, the kailan beef is super tender, cereal sotong has the perfect bite, ginger onion fish is very soft too! Will definitely come back again! Meal type: Dinner
