イスラム教徒のモスク内にある食堂なので豚は使っていないハラール中華。場所が分かりにくいのですが安くて美味しいので行く価値ありです！あっさりとした味いつけでボリュームもあり！とにかくコスパが高い！. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Brunch Price per person: HK$50–100

After Jumu’ah yesterday, my wife and I headed up to the Islamic Centre Canteen at the 5th floor of Ammar Mosque, mainly because we came specifically for their dumplings and buns — and honestly, they did NOT disappoint! The ordering system is quite unique and very community-canteen style. You’re given a card where your food and drinks are noted down, then you settle the bill at the end with cash or other payment methods. Just remember, card payments are limited to Octopus. Pretty simple and efficient once you get the hang of it! We had the shuai mai and pan-fried buns, and wahhh… these were the stars! The fillings were juicy, flavourful and packed nicely inside, with that satisfying bite you want from a good dumpling. The pan-fried buns especially were to die for — crispy underneath while still soft and fluffy on top, with a delicious juicy filling inside. Even the fish cake was full of flavour! The iced milk tea was also really refreshing , especially after Jumu’ah and a bit of walking around. It was absolutely packed after the Friday prayer, with both dine-in customers and people carrying away HUGE takeaway orders . The atmosphere has that big community-hall feeling, almost like a proper Hong Kong cha chaan teng experience — busy, lively and very local. Small tip: If you specifically want to try the dumpling and bun selections, make sure you arrive before 3 PM, otherwise you may miss out on some of them. They have plenty of other authentic Chinese and Cantonese dishes that I didn’t get to try this time because, honestly, I came with one mission — dumplings! Insha’Allah, next time I’ll come back and explore the rest of the menu. Overall, a really enjoyable halal Chinese food experience with delicious, juicy fillings and great value. Yummy food, busy atmosphere and definitely worth coming back for! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $50–100
