A quick lunch spot that I intentionally came to try, Sun Kwai Heung specializes in Hong Kong-style roasted meats, including char siu, crispy pork, roasted suckling pig, soy sauce chicken, and many other classics. On this visit, I ordered two dishes: * Char Siu (BBQ Pork) – The restaurant selected a cut with a good amount of marbling and fat, roasted to a nicely caramelized finish. The meat was juicy and tender, while the fat added extra richness and aroma. One thing to note: this version leans noticeably sweeter compared to other char siu styles. * Roasted Suckling Pig – This dish was excellent. The skin was beautifully crispy while still attached to the meat, giving a satisfying contrast between crunchy skin and tender meat underneath. The flavor leaned slightly savory but remained well-balanced, with subtle layers of spice coming through. Overall, I’d happily come back to try more dishes—especially the soy sauce chicken, which looked very tempting. The restaurant only has a limited number of seats, so if you want to dine in, you may need to wait a bit. Also, don’t expect fried chili oil here, but they do have spring onion oil, which you can ask the staff for and pairs nicely with the food.
