I visited a famous Chinese restaurant in Incheon Chinatown on a weekday evening. Since it was extremely hot outside, there wasn’t a very long waiting line, even though this restaurant is usually packed with people. We waited for about 20 minutes before getting a table. We ordered the iced jjamppong, which is a seasonal summer menu item, jajangmyeon (the restaurant’s classic black bean noodles), and guobaorou (sweet and sour fried pork). Every dish was delicious. The iced jjamppong was especially refreshing on such a hot day, the jajangmyeon had a rich and savory sauce, and the guobaorou was crispy on the outside while remaining tender inside. The restaurant was quite noisy because there were many older men talking loudly. The atmosphere wasn’t the most pleasant, but that’s part of the charm of this kind of busy, traditional Chinese restaurant. Despite the noise, the food was definitely worth the visit.
