Not just a "hole-in-the-wall". Established over four years ago, 2 Mak Coffee is a popular alleyway spot in the Seocheon village area of Seoul. Just minutes walk away from Gwanghwamun square, alleyways of traditional hanok houses and Gyeongbokgung palace, this is a great spot to pick up a takeaway while sightseeing in the area. If you prefer to sit-in, 2 Mak has two compact floors above designed carefully in their trademark mediterranean colour scheme of orange, beige and teak. The ground floor is taken up by a service station, tiny outdoor terrace and a 3 Group R9 Rocket Espresso machine. Designed by a New Zealand-Italian team in Milan, "Rocket Espresso Milano" machines are quite a rare sight in South Korea. Similar in capability to the Faema E61 and La Marzocco Linea range, Rocket machines standout for their contemporary stainless steel design and lowered machine height, allowing for better interaction between the barista and customer. With 12 litre boiler capcacity the 3 group machine at 2 Mak Coffee is testament to the busy footfall of locals and tourists who choose this hangout over the dozens of cafes nearby.

Fairly creative cafe. 2nd floor was antique and open. There are six seats w/ a half rounded table on the 3rd floor. Even though you have to go up steep stairs, it might be valuable experience.
