Cny meal. Sumptuous and costs around 380 , good for say 8-10pax. However all the dishes came almost at once and the service staff even asked whether the dessert can come too. It was almost like a buffet table in the end! Still value for money CNY meal. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: SGD 50–60 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Visited this eatery to try their Tze Char dishes, especially their San Lou Pan Fried Bee Hoon on a Sunday evening and was taken aback by the long queue well it has limited tables for this small outlet and had to share a table with other patrons during peak hours. There were two Queues and most patrons were confused which queue was for dining in and which was for takeaways, as there were no clear indication and service staffs were busy attending to seated customers and taking orders for both dining in and takeaways customers. We were eventually assigned to a small table for 2 paxs after about 15 mins of wait, which was not too bad, but that table had no customer and an almost emptied bowl of soup was felt uncleared since we reached to queue. We decided to order just their San Lou Pan Fried Bee Hoon and a drink, not only due to the small table that was assigned to us but also we were afraid of having to wait too long for our dishes if we were to order dishes as planned initially, that included Creamy Salted Egg Chicken, Claypot Taugan Tofu and Chinese Spinach With 3 eggs. (Table unable to accommodate all those dishes at once and we do not want to share table as preferred to dine in comfort) The San Lou Pan Fried Bee Hoon was served to us within the next 15 mins. Well, we had tried the same dish at other 3 tze char stores in Singapore as well as twice in JB, and what was served here was authentic to what served in a popular restaurant in JB, except 3 meals a day cooked the “Bee Hoon Pancake” or “Chao Tar Bee Hoon” better in terms of its overall flavours and texture - my personally preference. (Except for the burnt parts). The dish was visually striking with golden-brown crispy edges, and presence of Wok-Hei, however spotted some burnt parts (Bee Hoon and a slice of Fish Cake) on the back while digging in. We just picked those parts away and continue with the 1st bite. Its had good balance between moisture and crunch, nostalgia and craft. The flavour was further elevated with mix of Chilli condiments (Balachan). Overall its a dish worth returning back for and we did regretted not trying their other dishes at the same time. We will try to return next time to try their other dishes, during off peak hours and hopefully able avoid all the confusion of queuing, getting a bigger table as well as better service. Management might want to look into having just one extra service staff during peak hour to attend not only to customers but also guiding patrons in queue or prepare table or even serve ordered drinks to patrons who are usually thirsty while waiting for their food.
