This is such a wonderful place to celebrate! We had a lovely dinner with our friends, and the ambiance was really cozy and inviting. All the food was absolutely delicious— the roast chicken was so tender, and the steak was just perfect. A big thank you to all the staff; everyone was so nice and attentive. We truly enjoyed our time here and definitely look forward to coming back again. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We went for the Tuesday unlimited steak night. The first issue was with the booking. Apparently there was no space on the first night we booked due to a booking error. Was informed 3 hours before dining time. Was for a birthday. Had to reschedule. Day of dining - Experience - sat down and waited about 5 minutes before anyone came over to take my drink order (only because they brought a friends drink). Basically sums up the service for the whole night. At no point in the evening did anyone check in on us, until we paid the bill did they ask. We were not offered water refills without getting their attention (at the end of the night). We all chose the meat and cheese to start, 2 plates were missing one of the meats, that only one person got. Every other table got bread when they sat down, we got nothing. Moving on to the mains, fries were bland but crispy, steak was basically cold each time it came and inconsistently cooked, salad was over dressed and inedible. Overall a disappointing evening and I would not recommend. They might say they are busy so hard to attend to everyone, they do not make eye contact with people at the tables and barely look up for you to get their attention. The only perks, they let us put HH drinks on our bill and get them after HH. We got dessert complimented for the birthday. Value for money if you eat lots of steak and fries, but I’d rather spend money elsewhere. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $450–500 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

My second visit to A Poele was quite disappointing. Perhaps because it was unlimited steak on offer, diners opting for à la carte will be sidelined. Firstly, water was not offered having been seated 20 minutes. The server taking our order seemed to have a judgy attitude when taking our order. The food then came in a terrible sequence; mains came right before our appetisers, which meant they got cold by the time starters were finished. Who wants cold risotto? The mussels dish was overly salty, and not fresh - the worst I’ve had. Fries were cold and hard. Duck confit and beef tartare were very average. Sadly I can’t recommend it for à la carte now. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
