If you’re looking for a good Thai seafood spot that won’t break the bank, you’ve got to check out Sawasdee Seafood. It’s tucked away in a lively market (don't worry about the chaos—there's plenty of parking at the end of the market), and the service is quick. The vibe is totally laid-back, and every dish we ordered was a hit. Here is the lowdown on the Thai classics we tried: Crab Fried Rice: This was the ultimate comfort food. It was fluffy, not too greasy, and topped with a generous amount of crab meat. A squeeze of lime and a dash of the chili fish sauce on the side makes it perfect. Steamed Squid with Lime (Pla Meuk Neung Manao): This was the star of the show. It’s served in a hot metal pot with a zesty, spicy broth loaded with fresh garlic, chilies, and cilantro. The squid was super tender and the sour lime kick is incredibly refreshing. Stir-fried Seafood with Holy Basil (Pad Krapow Talay): A classic Thai staple. The shrimp and squid were cooked perfectly with that distinct peppery heat from the holy basil. It’s great if you want something with a bit of a spicy punch. Grilled Squid: Simple and delicious. It had a nice char from the grill and came with a spicy, tangy green seafood dipping sauce that really brought out the sweetness of the squid. Stir-fried Mixed Veggies with Shrimp: A great way to balance out the meal. The broccoli and cabbage were still crunchy, and the shrimp were nice and plump. Everything was fresh, fast, and very cheap.
