The only thing I would highly recommend here is the classic Root Beer Float. It's still as refreshing and nostalgic as ever, and it's easily the highlight of the menu. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed by the food. The burger was below average. The bun was quite dry, the patty was also on the dry side, and the sauce didn't really tie everything together. It wasn't inedible, but it lacked the flavour and juiciness that you'd expect from a good burger. The fried chicken was also disappointing. While it was cooked reasonably well, I felt it was under-seasoned, making it taste rather plain. Overall, I'd probably only come back if I was craving an A&W Root Beer Float. As for the burgers and fried chicken, there are plenty of better options elsewhere. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We are looking for a taste of nostalgia. The BEST ever flavours of their fried chicken instantly brought back my teenage memories; we would love to order their corny dog & waffles - definitely next trip. Their fried chicken never once failed me, no matter where I dine in. Crispy, juicy and tender. Burger - superb and crispy curly fries! More, thier Crew Carol served us the food to our table, she does brighten everything and made our day. Thanks Carol. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Confusing queueing system and zero signage. It's like an IQ test. Hear me out: They got 2 booths for ordering, 2 booths for self-ordering machine, 2 booths for drinks, 1 booth for order collection, and zero lines marked out on floor for which direction you are supposed to queue. As a first-time customer, I got confused when I tried to collect my drink. Situation was like this: There were 2 drink booths ahead of me, only one was manned and the other had no signage to indicate it was out of commission. One customer was being served ahead of me, and zero queues before me. My choices were: (1) Queue behind Customer 1 being served, and most definitely block the way to Popeyes / Courts for other pedestrians. (2) Be considerate. Queue to the right of Customer 1, since the 2nd drink booth is right there, and there is no signage indicating it is non-operational. What would you choose? I chose (2) and waited for the surprisingly lengthy 3 minutes it takes for them to prepare drinks for Customer 1. Then, the lady manning Drink Booth 1 turned, gave me a stinkeye (middle-aged, 50-65 yo, white-grey hair in bun, glasses, sounds like the one being complained in other reviews) and asked contemptuously, "Can you not queue?" I looked back. Turns out, Customer 3 had started queuing behind Customer 1. Issue 1. Service issue. Lady could have corrected me in the 3 minutes I stood there waiting; She knew I was there. Instead, she chose to denounce me loudly and publicly when she's done serving Customer 1, and tell Customer 2 (me) to stand behind Customer 3. It comes off as an intentionally spiteful and punitive move, disregarding honest mistakes made by well-intentioned and confused customers. Issue 2. Systemic Issue. No sooner had I, confused and mildly humiliated, get in line behind Customer 3 (whom lady was now serving), another staff came up to Drink Booth 2 and waved me over. What was the point of all that? No one likes being berated in public. The service honestly soured the entire experience for me. Beyond that, when my buzzer went off and I went to collect my food, my tray was there, without any staff around. No sauces were given automatically. No written directions to "Please return the buzzer" or "Please ask for sauces" or anything of that sort. I made 3 separate trips back to 1. Return the buzzer. 2. Look for sauces. 3. Queue yet again just to request for sauces. A flawless system is one that is intuitive to 95% of customers and has backups in place to catch the 5% that slip through (usually, the hard of hearing, blind, or more vulnerable). An adequate one is one that caters to 70% customers, and can fit situations that are within reasonable expectations. In this instance, not only had A&W's system failed to address the most predictable situation (of first-timers), it was outright hostile and even malevolent to us in this instance. I'm afraid I will have to stick to my Dad's recommendations. KFC, with its slew of hard-of-hearing staff, who are willing to make accommodations for both staff and customers, tops A&W. Unless A&W Jurong Point makes major systemic changes, I reckon like the brand's other outlets, it will not survive. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1 Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Wheelchair accessibility: With the stall's high booths and reluctance to accommodate its customers, it will be difficult if you do not run into a kind staff during your visit.
