Sometimes, life surprises you with things that are of excellence. Afterthought is off the main highway to Phayao, tucked away - you might just missed it since there’s no signage on the main road. If you are heading up to Phayao, it’s worth a stop to refuel on some solid coffee. We had the cappuccino - strong roast, flavorful with a subtle hint of cinnamon - purrfect! Pim said her Cha Kiao Yen - Milk Green tea was delightful too. For sweets (and we gotta have sweets, don’t we? After having to visit several government bodies today and successfully not having to return is a good enough reason to celebrate- with something sweet ) we had the 2 desserts available: basque burnt cheesecake and blueberry cheesecake - surprisingly pleasurable ( mind you, I wasn’t hoping for much, since at 2pm, the cafe was devoid of cars at the parking lot and we weren’t sure if it was even open until we saw some lights at the window and the person peering out from the coffee machine to see if we were coming in All in all, excellent coffee, chic n clean atmosphere and divine cakes This place ‘Afterthought’ certainly deserves more than an afterthought.
