Ah Nam Kopi is such an underrated and easy spot in the heart of the CBD, tucked within SMU. For a place in this area, the pricing is very fair and reasonable. The Kopi C was surprisingly fragrant and good, and the nasi lemak fried chicken set was the clear winner. The berempah-style fried chicken was tasty, the blue pea nasi lemak rice was very flavourful, and the sides were done really well; crispy peanuts and anchovies, amazing sambal chilli, achar, and egg. I added an onsen egg, which made the whole plate even better. Together with an iced Teh C, the meal came up to only about $11 after GST, which is great value for this location. Honestly, the current review rating does not do the place justice. I really hope more people patronise and support local stalls and hawker-style food like this. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $1–10

The ordering process is as simple as it could be. You can order via the terminal or on your phone if you have already collected a beeper. We had two Bubble Teas, one Waffle with Chocolate and Kaya and one toast with peanut butter. The food itself was delicious but the service could be better. At first they forgot our toast but made it fresh for us when we told them but they forgot to put the kaya on the waffles. All in all not a big deal and for the price (around 13 Singapore Dollars) you can’t complain! I can definitely recommend it. Meal type: Breakfast Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
