This is a relatively-new restaurant near Fashion Walk that occupies the space where Red Lobster used to be (a restaurant I greatly miss!). I was trying to get into the nearby Sen Ryo - perhaps my favourite sushi restaurant in HK - but there was a 20-minute wait there. Aka was right across the street. Everything is clean and nicely decorated, and we were seated immediately. I was surprised to discover the first course was a few leaves of raw cabbage and cucumber and carrot sticks; not bad, but it gave me the strange feeling of being on a diet. Everything else was indeed delicious and well presented, but the portions were incredibly small, most especially the scallops. On the particular evening I visited, they seemed to be very short-staffed - only the manager and one waiter trying to take care of a nearly-full restaurant. They were friendly and seemed to be doing their best, but long gaps between ordering and serving were thus unavoidable. In sum, I'm happy I tried Aka, but I found there was no value for money, portions were very small, the wait was long, and the items were overpriced. I'm unlikely to be back. Try for yourself, perhaps at off-peak hours. Otherwise, Sen Ryo is right next door. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $450–500

Terrible service. Food is not great, either too salty or dry with mediocre presentation. High price for the kind of quality they present. Mistakes on our food order. Hidden charge for “fresh vegetables” that were already on the table. Honestly, I wanted to go to sen-ryo across the street for a family dinner but my parents arrived first at AKA restaurant and asked if it was sen-ryo and the server said yes, so the server basically lied to my clueless parents for them to come into the restaurant. Horrible behaviour and practice. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
