Being a person who stays in Tampines , I often frequent to this eatery to have either my late dinner or late supper! The price is reasonable and the food portion is acceptable! Will definitely come here to eat the food again! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian options: HALAL Dietary restrictions: HALAL

Disappointing experience – Not elderly-friendly or service-oriented I visited Al Mateen Food Hub with my elderly parents hoping for a good meal, but my rating dropped from 5 stars to 1 star very quickly: • Service (5 to 3): Initially, the staff was smiley, which was welcoming. However, that friendliness didn't translate into attentiveness. They failed to ask about spice levels or offer options for the Bee Hoon and Mee Goreng, which came masked with green chilli padi (including loads of the seeds). • Food Quality (3 to 2): The Mutton Soup (Sup Kambing) was a huge letdown—it was significantly saltier, oilier, and spicier than what is standard for this dish. • Customer Care (2 to 1): The spiciness was so intense it caused me throat discomfort and a coughing fit. I could only manage three mouthfuls. When I explained this, the staff was completely unapologetic. Another staff even asked me to point out who took my order and blamed that specific colleague. What a shocking display of "teamwork" and customer care. • Service Recovery (Final 1): When I suggested they should inform customers about spice levels during ordering, they were dismissive. Three staff members, including the lady cashier, smilingly told me it was "normal" for these dishes to be spicy and blamed us for not asking for no chilli. I have eaten enough Bee Hoon and Mee Goreng in Singapore to know they don't usually come this spicy unless requested. I am baffled by their frivolous response. It is disappointing that a neighborhood eatery isn't more mindful of spice tolerances, especially for elderly diners. To be met with "you didn't ask" instead of a simple apology when a customer is visibly unwell is unacceptable. Not worth a single cent. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
