My wife and I planned to have our wedding celebration with family by having a reception dinner July 2020 As we got married in Australia and our family is from Hong Kong and Taiwan. Due to the pandemic we were not able to attended and notified them as soon as we could when it was announced that international flights was stopped. At first management advised to keep the date as Taiwan was not facing this pandemic, closer to the date and after many conversation we were offered to select another date on the condition that we sign a new contract which states that we can change the date but only within a year time, if we don’t sign we would lose our deposit for breaking the contract and if we do sign and not have the reception we would lose the deposit as well, when questioned about what if it is still beyond our contract due to covid? They advised it is just formality The dates that was available was limited to a few odd weekday dates. A year had past and there has been no change to the pandemic, we called again asking for cancel and return the deposit. In which they advised the contract was signed and that we breached the contract. We took this further with the Taiwan ombudsmen equivalent who responded in Amazing Hall Minsheng Hall to pay back 75% within 30days, Friday was the 30th day and finally got the money back! The management team is the worst I have dealt with, the amount of delay tactics is amazing also trying to blame us that we couldn’t attend was our fault and just wanted to cancel is just pure foul. 100% would not recommended. If management was better and if it wasn’t for the pandemic then maybe outcome of this would have been better.
