Anita's Kitchen was a pleasant surprise and more people should know about it. It's small and unassuming but the cooking is excellent.
Somebody from my country (UK) complained that "they don't do sweet and sour pork", and that's worth noting. The food here could almost come from China. It's not UK takeaway Chinese, it's real Chinese.
So, we had a takeaway because it was my wife's birthday, we'd already eaten and drunk enough for one day but we wanted to try the food here.
People on Trip Advisor seem to say that it's a Cantonese restaurant but it's not.
It does do some Cantonese food but the standout dishes for me are Szechuan/Sichuan (take your pick).
Your dish comes with crazy amounts of Sichuan chillies and pleasantly numbing Sichuan pepper. You only eat the meat or fish that is infused with their taste, and it's a truly authentic taste that I have only experienced so far, in Hong Kong and London.
We had a pork dish. The green beans with pepper are similarly authentic.
Another chilli dish is boiled chicken with chilles. I think this is a Cantonese dish. It's essentially thick slices of chicken in a fragrant chilli oil and is magnificent. I'm keeping the chilli oil for cooking, it was that good.
Steamed and fried dumplings (a bit like gyoza), won tun soup and a pork dumpling soup were all wonderful, with a Chinese flavour and no crossover Thai flavour spoiling it as can happen in Thailand.
In short, it's a restaurant with Chinese and Thai food. The Chinese menu is limited but it's authentic and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for real Chinese food in Phuket.
