The doenjang jjigae( soy bean korean soup) is absolutely delicious, like homemade doenjang jjigae. This is better than any Korean restaurant in Korea. The side dishes on the top right are truly exceptional. The bean sprouts are also delicious. Kimchi: Absolutely country kimchi. It's hard to even find red pepper powder, but it's incredible. My reviews show me visiting Korean restaurants all over the world, and this is Tier 1. It's the best. There are two main types of doenjang jjigae. The doenjang paste itself is expensive, like this one. country home made style soy bean paste The 2nd doenjang jjigae, made with soybean paste, diff soybean(ssamjang) paste, and a thick, rich sauce with chadol (spicy beef), is typically served as a side dish at barbecue restaurants. This restaurant's doenjang jjigae (country home made style)is considered high-end. Country-style Korean food is even more expensive in Korea. When I first entered the restaurant, I walked in with such a cheerful smile (I walk quickly), that the Western couple seemed to think I was the owner or a member of the owner's family. The staff were also surprised, as if they thought I was an acquaintance of the owner. I quickly ordered a doenjang jjigae, just because I was a customer. A tip for Westerners interested in Korean food. For beginners, bibimbap is the easiest. For intermediate players, try doenjang jjigae or kimchi jjigae, and order extra rice with the side dishes that come with it. Ask for a bowl, add the side dishes to the rice, and mix it together. You can ask for soy sauce or red pepper paste, but since the vegetables are already seasoned, you can just eat them as is. The side dishes here are neither salty nor bland; they are a work of art. The cook was a middle-aged Korean woman with a perm who seemed to be the owner (?). For doenjang and kimchi to taste this good, the chef must be Korean. It's honestly easy to make thick, meat-based side dish doenjang jjigae. You'll find that at Korean restaurants run by Chinese people or with foreign chefs, but that's not traditional Korean cuisine. Anyway, it's a spacious, honest restaurant with no frills. Thank you for letting me eat my fill of dinner while abroad. It's so good because it's served in (nickel silver pot )German silver pot. and it's boiling vigorously. I visited the Seoul restaurant again after 20 years, and the female owner still cooks the food in the kitchen. We serve food filled with the warmth of an old country table. Pork belly is still of good quality and has a great savory taste. It's on a different level from just soft pork belly. There's unlimited refills of lettuce, and if you ask for the leftover kimchi and anchovies, which are among the many side dishes, to be packaged, they even put them in plastic bags, Thai style. I wish the owner, an elderly woman who cooks cost-effective and delicious Korean food in Chiang Rai, good health. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
