時間が早かったせいか、店内はガラガラ。少し後に、日本人カップル、それから一人客。その程度。観光客向けだったのかなあ。料理は美しく盛られて、味も良かった。お通しのエビせんは食べきれなかったが、ちゃんと持ち帰りさせてくれた。. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ฿800–1,000

We’ve visited At-Ta-Rote several times over the years because we like the menu and have always enjoyed the food, which is why this visit was so disappointing. We came for lunch and there was only one other table occupied, yet from the moment we arrived the staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming. Our order was taken promptly, but the overall service lacked warmth and hospitality. The food itself tasted good, as we’ve come to expect. However, the crispy fried chicken was a real disappointment. The menu photo showed what appeared to be a generous half chicken, but what arrived was around half that size, containing roughly the same amount of meat as six chicken wings despite costing ฿320. We pointed out the difference by showing the staff both the menu photo and the dish we’d been served. They didn’t explain why the portion was so much smaller, but they did offer to remake it. As we were already hungry, I declined because it didn’t seem worth wasting perfectly good food. Unfortunately, no other attempt was made to resolve the issue, such as adjusting the price to reflect the much smaller portion. Our lunch for two came to ฿1,654 including service charge and VAT. We don’t mind paying premium prices when the quality, portions and service justify them, but on this occasion they didn’t. It’s a shame because we’ve enjoyed several previous visits and know this restaurant can do much better. We hope this was simply an off day, but this experience left us feeling disappointed and questioning the value for money.
