Stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday. No wait time. Ordering was a very dry, quick transaction. Cesar salad was pretty good. The pizza was slightly under-done. Crust was very thin, but that's probably the style in Taiwan. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $200–400 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

My husband and I stopped by Bellini Pasta Pasta at the Taichung Showtime branch (秀泰站前店) for a quick dinner recently. We wanted something easy and Italian-ish, but it was just okay—nothing special, and definitely not worth rushing back for. We got the carbonara, aglio olio with shrimp, and a small margherita pizza to share. The carbonara was creamy but way too sweet and lacked that rich, cheesy depth you expect—no real pancetta flavor, and the pasta was a bit overcooked and soft. The aglio olio had some garlic, but it was drowned in oil, and the shrimp were small and not very fresh-tasting. The pizza crust was thin and crispy enough, but the sauce was pretty basic (kinda tangy and thin), and there wasn’t much cheese or topping coverage. Portions are decent for the price (around NT$350–450 per main dish), and the food came out fairly quickly. The staff were friendly enough, though the service felt a bit autopilot in a busy mall setting. The place itself is loud and bright—fine for a casual bite, but not cozy or romantic like we hoped for a date night. It’s not bad enough to hate, but it’s also not good enough to recommend. We’ve had tastier pasta at other spots in Taichung for similar money, or even cheaper at local places. It’s convenient if you’re already shopping at Showtime and craving pasta, but don’t go out of your way. Probably won’t return unless we’re desperate.
