Visited 23/02/2026. Really nice intimate bijou restaurant. Had lovely vegan pad thai, a lovely pasty with spinach and cheese and a beer. Sadly the beer was the most expensive I have had in my 6 weeks in Thailand. Owner reduced price by 20 baht but still a very expensive beer. Owner speaks very good English, is very knowledgable and was very informative about Thailand. Would love to have stayed longer but it was closing time and I had to check in to my hotel. Recommend you eat there for really healthy food and if you have any questions about Thailand no doubt owner will do his best to answer. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ฿200–400 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Lots. Great to see. Really healthy food.

I mean c’mon you people!!! It doesn’t get more vegan friendly by any standards than Baan ghu lhao. Let’s keep things simple here: if you’re a vegan or a converting carnivore or vegetarian, this restaurant offers top quality vegan food - both Thai, local Southern Thai and Asian style. The ingredients are sourced to the highest standard and the attention to details is simply ridiculous. The people around this place are amazing. If you’re a vegan introvert who just wants to clean the plate, you’re in the right place too, buuuut if you want to spend some time and have a genuine conversation about life, Thailand and exchange views of the world in a non pretentious way - Athizt and the team are the people talk to. Don’t be shy ask a few questions (not only about directions or spots to go to in and around Trang) and you will be rewarded and probably end up having a proper laugh.
