昨日食べたストロベリーショートケーキがとても美味しかったので、今日また2個買いに来ました。空港へ出発する前に30分ほど余裕があったので、ロビーで食べてから行くつもりでした。 しかし、残念ながら25分間も立ち往生する羽目になりました。店員さんは一人でしたが、今まで見た中で一番手際が悪かったです。前のお客さんのケーキ数個をパッキングするだけで、丸々20分もかかっていました。後ろにいたパンを買おうとしていたお客さんも、あまりの遅さに何をしているのか覗き込み、結局怒ってパンを置いて帰ってしまいました。待っている間、私もどんどん腹が立ってきました。 一番納得がいかなかったのは、やっと自分の番になり、冷蔵庫のケーキを指差して注文しようとした時です。後から来た日本人の客がショーケースを覗き込んだだけで、店員はその人に「（私に）先にショートケーキを出してもいいですか？」と聞いたのです。私は25分間もそこに立っていたのに、さっき来たばかりの人に許可を取るなんて意味が分かりません。この店員はずっと下を向いて作業をしていて、行列が全く見えておらず、順番すら把握していませんでした。私が日本人ではないから差別されたのか、それとも私が割り込みをしたと思われたのか分かりませんが、非常に不愉快でした。 30分あったはずの余裕が、結局空港へ行く直前の5分間で急いで食べるしかなくなりました。非常に不愉快な買い物体験で、最悪のサービスでした。 I came back today to buy two more strawberry shortcakes because they were so delicious yesterday. I had about 30 minutes and planned to enjoy them in the lobby before heading to the airport. Unfortunately, I ended up standing there for 25 minutes. There was only one staff member, and she was the slowest person I have ever seen. She took a full 20 minutes just to pack a few cakes for the customer in front of me. Another customer behind me, who was just buying bread, was so frustrated that they looked over the counter to see what was taking so long, and eventually just put the bread back and left. I was getting more and more angry as I waited. The worst part was when it was finally my turn. As I pointed to the strawberry cakes in the fridge, a Japanese customer just walked up to look, and the staff member actually asked the Japanese person if they "minded" if she served me first! I had been standing there for 25 minutes, and this person just arrived—why would you ask for their permission to serve me? This staff member worked so slowly and never once looked up to see the long queue, so she had no idea who was first. I don’t know if it was because I’m not Japanese and she was discriminating against me, or if she genuinely thought I was cutting the line. Because of this, my 30 minutes of spare time turned into only 5 minutes to rush my food before leaving for the airport. Very unpleasant shopping experience and terrible service.
