My wife and I just moved to Chiang Mai from the los angeles Ca area and were looking for vietnamese food to try in Chiang Mai. We got a recommendation from a friend to try Banh Mi Hoa Chiang Mai so we went to try out. I can say that this is the best I have tasted outside of Little Saigon area in southern CA where I grew up. This is my point of reference when comparing Vietnamese food from other regions. I grew up eating Pho, bánh mì thịt nướng, and other vietnamese dishes. The taste is very authentic. We met the owners and really enjoyed speaking with them. I was able to practice my kindergarten level vietnamese with the both of them. The bánh mì thịt nướng was extremely tasty and authentic. the meat was seasoned with lemongrass, which is the traditional way of doing barbecue pork. The owner mentioned that she grilled it on charcoal (originally done in the old days). We also had the Pho and this too was super authentic. they had all the necessary condiments including hoisen sauce and sriracha hot sauce. The owners are lovely people and they have several cute dogs you can play with. there’s ample parking in the complex. It is a hidden gem. hoping to keep it that way. the place can get very busy so reservations is recommended if you are going at peak hours. Pricing is on the higher side but worth it. We were eating Thai food for 7 days straight and was craving for some authentic Vietnamese food. The pictures and the reviews seemed good enough to try. Quaint and clean restaurant with plenty of parking spaces. We ordered beef pho, grilled pork rolls, eggrolls, banh xeo (Vietnamese omelette) and flan for dessert. All the dishes has the right essence of Vietnam. Plenty of herbs to accommodate each dish. We will definitely return. The owners is from Ben Tre, Vietnam. Super accommodating and gracious host.
