Excellent Authentic Local Cuisine by the River in Tak If you are passing through or visiting Tak city, Ban Khiang Nam is a must-visit. It offers a wonderful variety of local dishes with a great atmosphere. The Food: The menu features authentic flavors from the Tak region. Here are some highlights from our meal: • Deep-fried Boneless Ruby Fish (ปลาทับทิมไร้ก้าง): Perfectly fried, crispy on the outside, and very convenient as it is boneless. Served with two types of delicious dipping sauces. • Tak-style Crispy Larb (ลาบกรอบเมืองตาก): A local specialty. It’s fragrant, savory, and has a unique texture compared to standard larb. • Wing Bean Salad with Ground Fish (ยำถั่วพูปลาป่น): Very fresh and well-balanced with a generous topping of peanuts. • Stir-fried Chayote Shoots with Tofu (ผัดยอดมะระเห็ดรวมเต้าหู้): A great vegetable dish to balance the meal—fresh greens and soft tofu. • Crispy Fried Small Shrimp (กุ้งฝอยทอดกรอบ): The perfect appetizer! Very crunchy and addictive. Experience & Service: The service was fast and the staff was friendly. We loved that the rice was served in traditional clay pots, which is a charming touch. The prices are very reasonable (around 1,150 THB for a large feast for a group). Verdict: Highly recommended for families or groups of friends looking for a "real" taste of Tak. Great portions, fair prices, and authentic recipes. Price per person: ฿200–400 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
