I'm hard-pressed to find superlatives enough for Bar Wonderwall. It's got the cheapest Taiwan Beer on offer in Kaohsiung (but there are ritzier options, like Ardbeg whisky!), and one drink gets you two song requests on their YouTube-based karaoke setup. Owners Shuni and Lisa were inspired by Bar Champion in Shinjuku's Golden Gai—but this cover version outranks the original! Rollicking karaoke is always a draw, as are the owners' inventive bar challenge games, and you'll be impressed with the depth, quality, and wittiness of the conversations held around this bar's steel-drum countertops. Polyglots and music devotees welcome!

Bar Wonderwall is back after closing for covid precautions! and as usual, this place makes me so happy! The owners are so kind and friendly and try to make the most open space for you to sing your favorite song, meet new people outside, and bond with strangers/ new friends! I can’t recommend this place enough! It really brings me so much joy! ???? ????
