Blown away by the Mod-Sin offerings here. Chef Marcus Leow has outclassed himself. Loved most of the dishes we had over a 5-course dinner. Will return with family and friends. Like their food menu, restaurant also kept their cocktails list tight — one concoction per choice of liquor. We enjoyed Sambal Marg(arita) $25 the most, Pandan Colada the least. Locate The Coconut Club at the junction of Beach Rd & Bussorah St. The restaurant is right above. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+

One of the best meals I've had for a long time. A completely local palate, really elevated, really well done, in a low pressure environment. Michelin level food, without the pretense you can get at some Michelin places. The food requires explanations, but everything is recognizable - no foams, or essences, or weird textures. Just an excellent celebration of the cuisine of Singapore. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+

My wife and I tried the full menu at Belimbing, and it was incredible. What makes the restaurant special is how confidently it handles Singaporean and Peranakan inspired flavours. This isn’t watered down “fusion” food, or a concept trying to be clever for the sake of it. The flavours shine through clearly. Rich, spicy, aromatic, savoury, and bright.. but everything is so well balanced that it remains completely accessible, even for someone less familiar with the cuisine. The langoustine was one of the standout dish of the night. The egg custard also incredible. The claypot rice, often the point in a tasting menu where things start to feel like carb heavy filler, was packed with squid and full of depth. The meats were extremely generous too, especially given the price point. My only small criticisms: I didn’t love the corn dessert, though that may just be personal preference, and the tri tip needed a couple more slices of that amazing pineapple jerky. Overall, Belimbing is the rare modern restaurant that makes familiar flavours feel exciting without stripping away what makes them special. Bold, generous, beautifully balanced, and absolutely worth visiting. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
