I am a regular customer of Bengawan Solo. This is a brand I genuinely support and trust. However, my recent experience at the Compass One outlet was very disappointing. While I was queuing to make payment, all staff were busy serving customers. There was a lady wearing a grey apron at the counter, whom I assumed to be the supervisor on duty. Instead of assisting, she loudly shouted across the counter at another staff member to come over and process my payment. Her tone, facial expression, and attitude were extremely unprofessional, especially in front of customers. This was not an isolated incident. On previous visits, I have observed the same staff member speaking harshly to her staff in Chinese and ordering them around with a very poor attitude. On another occasion, I even witnessed her arguing with a delivery personnel outside the store. Such behaviour reflects very poorly on the brand. As a loyal customer, this is truly disappointing and has affected my confidence in visiting the Compass One outlet again. I would much rather visit other Bengawan Solo outlets, where the service has consistently been more pleasant and professional. I hope management will take this feedback seriously. Staff behaviour and customer service are just as important as product quality, and I sincerely hope this can be improved to uphold the reputation of Bengawan Solo. Price per person: $20–30

Fortunately, I did not encounter the poor service mentioned by several reviewers, service was normal the few times I bought from this Bengawan Solo outlet. Their Panda Chiffon cake remains my favorite, fragrant, soft and delicious. The walnut cake and the kueh salat are quite good too. They have some average or mediocre tasting products like the mango cake and the ang ku kueh(the skin was hard and the mung bean fillings were rather rough). I miss the corn cake they used to offer; while it wasn't the best I've had, it was sufficient to satisfy my cravings and was superior to the version by Subway Niche. Additionally, I enjoy their Hazelnut Chocolate cake and to a lesser extent, the Pandan kaya cake. Meal type: Other Price per person: $1–10 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
