The original Bentoss at Liang Court used to be my favorite restaurant offering tasty noodles and dons at attractive prices. I am sad to say that this place has steadily gone downhill since its move to Kim Seng Promenade. It's been a year since my last review and I decided to give this place a chance. Today I had the grilled salmon set and it was a letdown. The rice was cold and the salmon tasteless. I think I can get a better deal for my S$16 at a Kopitiam food court bento shop. The miso soup seemed thin and adulterated compared with my last visit. Also missing was the purple pickled cucumbers of old which was replaced with a dish of pickled carrot and radish. The hot soba that my mom ordered was cold and the soup was lukewarm. It seems like the cook took cold soba and dropped it in the not so hot soup stock. The soup stock was also tasteless. The accompanying shrimp tempura was small and soggy. Looks like the cook did not take the time to allow the oil to drain. This place is now off my list of value for money dining experiences. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: SGD 10–20 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

First time here and was pleasantly surprised! Cold soba ($7) was substantial and chewy and tonjiru soup ($4) was hearty and brimming with sliced vegetables and pork. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: SGD 10–20 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
