With the main hawker centre in Clementi closed for a three-month renovation, I found myself at Bistro8 Coffee Shop—and what a discovery it was. I have to say, this is easily one of the best cups of Kopi-O I’ve had in Singapore. The aroma carries a rich, charcoal-roasted depth, with a full-bodied flavour that lingers pleasantly on the palate. Most importantly, it’s wonderfully smooth with none of the acidity that often comes with local brews. The Teh C is just as impressive—robust, authentic, and evocative of the old-school style that’s getting harder to find these days. Meal type: Breakfast Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Find this hidden Japanese and Korean cuisine in Bistro8@clementi! The kimchi beef soup is really good and flavorful! There are vegetable doufu and egg, the amount of beef is quite good and price is reasonable! The sizzling beef is good too! The beef is softer than that in the soup. And the set includes a bowl of soup and rice. I will come back again! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $1–10 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
