I wanted to show my parents a different side to Korean food and culture and share an elevated yet relaxed new experience together for our family trip and Bium proved to be the perfect choice. Exceptional and insightful temple cuisine prepared and served by warm and knowledgeable people. It’s deceptively simple in its presentation but so rich in detail and meticulous in labor. There were many types of vegetables that would be difficult to access outside Korea, turned into various pickles to go with wonderful grains and broths. My favorite was the tofu grilled in perilla oil. They offered sets of rice to take home to continue the experience as well. Price per person: ₩100,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Wow! One of the best food experiences of my life. I’ve been to most of the 50 best in the world, tons of 2-3 Michelin stars. That’s all fun but it’s fussy or usually nauseating by the end of the meal. I only mention this to bolster my review ;) Bium is a tranquil Aman like respite in the middle of Seoul. They serve elevated temple food and it’s absolutely exquisite. The entire experience was phenomenal from entering the space to sitting next monks to the final tea post dessert. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

From the time you enter, it is a special experience. Very relaxing and natural. My first thought was of the wood fragrance. Every detail was amazing - the food, service, presentation, and atmosphere. The flavors were incredible and I loved the small dishes and vegetable dishes. I kept the notes from the menu. The drinks were delicious and the black sesame dessert was fantastic.
