Super clean super chill staff great food for great prices. I got about 10 passion fruit smoothies in less than 3 days. Fried rice is only 80 baht for quite a lot of good food. 2 rags with 2 slices of toast for 60 baht. Lots of choices both Western and Thai. Great pool and great atmosphere. 8 per room with 2 bathrooms roomed are cleaned daily by lovely staff. Only small complaint is that the beds have no curtains. The beach is a 5 minute walk away from the hostel but watch out because when I was walking to the beach I saw a big lizard and when I was eating later apparently one of the chickens got snatched by one. Anyways, i recommend staying here as there are lots of activities and things to do around. Also they rent scooters so no need to get one from anywhere else. Service: 5

I had a similar experience to other reviewers, and it raised some serious red flags. I was asked to leave my passport as a deposit for my stay, this is disclosed in their booking confirmation email, so fair enough. However, when I declined, the staff member improvised and offered a 2000 baht cash alternative. This directly contradicts their own written policy, which states "cash and other forms of ID are not accepted as the deposit." Most hostels charge 100–200 baht for a key deposit anyway, and even hotels usually ask around 1000 baht. As soon as I pushed back, the attitude changed and staff became noticeably unfriendly and dismissive. Just because others may agree to hand over their passport doesn't make it reasonable for everyone. There are plenty of other places to stay in Koh Lanta — I would choose one of those instead. Happy travels :) --- EDIT — Response to management reply: The hostel's response contains multiple inaccuracies I want to address directly. First: I did not ask to rent a motorbike. The passport deposit was requested for my stay not a bike rental. While I now acknowledge this is stated in their booking email, it does not explain what followed. Second: When I declined, staff offered a 2000 baht cash alternative, which directly contradicts their own booking confirmation email stating "cash and other forms of ID are not accepted as the deposit." So which is it? Third: I was not offered help arranging transport. I received rude remarks instead. The management response misrepresents the facts and asks me to remove a legitimate review. The contradiction between their own written policy and what staff demanded on the day speaks for itself. What a mess!

Hey Hamid, We are sorry you weren't fully satisfied however we ask for a deposit to be left by all guests upon check in. In your case you asked to rent a motorbike, which requires a passport deposit, this is the usual practice across many rental companies in the area. If a guest refuses to leave a passport they can alternatively leave a deposit of 2000b for the room however in this case they will not be eligible to rent a motorbike with us. This was clearly explained to you by multiple members of staff. After refusing to leave a deposit you informed the staff you would like to cancel your booking and find another place to stay. This is of course ultimately your choice and we support your decision wholeheartedly. You were further offered help arranging transport to your new accommodation which you also refused. Finally, as you ae not a customer of ours we would ask that you remove your review as we do not believe you are in a position to accurately review our hostel, the staff, or our facilities here. Hey Geri, Although we appreciate all reviews, good or bad we have flagged this review as you have left the same review for 3 of our hostels which are all situated in different lotions and we also have been unable to find any booking or evidence of you staying with us. Thank you Blanco Lanta
