Celebrated my birthday at Blue Nude and was super impressed by the excellent plates on offer, as well as the wide range of natural wines available. In house made Stilton crackers with Mascarpone and mountain honey was my favorite of our starters, the other being two delightful French cheeses (sorry, can’t remember the names) served with butter caramel Macadamia nuts. Our main courses were the delicious mushroom korma, served with freshly baked nan bread and of course, the excellent steak and mashed potatoes. We also had the cauliflower cheese as a very generous side dish, would have been more than enough as a vegetarian main course. All were expertly cooked and presented by the charming owner. What I really found impressive is that she makes a lot of the components herself from scratch with very high quality ingredients following her own tried and tested recipes, and with a great deal of skill. The meal was rounded off by a delicious complimentary sticky toffee pudding complete with birthday candle! We sampled both the daily pour of white and rose wines, both were delicious and paired well with our food. Cannot recommend this hidden gem highly enough!
