"During my trip to Chiang Mai, I paid a visit to Boon Homestay — and it was one of the highlights of my journey. I'm exploring the area as a possible retirement destination, and my time at Boon gave me a genuine taste of the life I'd love to live. What makes Boon special is the community. Even as a day visitor, I found myself meeting and making friends from all over the world, hanging out in a chill garden that feels like a home. You're never lonely or homesick in a place like this. The food is inexpensive, home-cooked, and absolutely delicious — the kind of meals that nourish both body and soul. They also have well-maintained bikes available for rent, which is a perfect way to explore the San Kamphaeng countryside. Everything is properly taken care of with clear safety measures, so you can ride easy and enjoy the scenery. If you want a carefree, welcoming spot to experience real Chiang Mai living — whether for a meal, a conversation, or just a peaceful afternoon — Boon is the place. I'll definitely be back." My daughter n me was heading north of Thailand and we do not want to stay in Chiang Mai town but somewhere that’s quiet and still able to reach the highway easily, Boon Homestay was the ideal choice. The owner - Patrick, was very kind and brought us along for some sightseeing while he was out for some grocery shopping. Visit the Art & Craft Elephant Museum if you’re into handicraft arts. Tips: If you’re lucky, the owner may treat you for special home cook meals. Service: 5
