Premium Branding, Poverty-Level Hospitality & Misleading Information Rating: 1 / 5 As a business owner, I understand that hospitality is an emotional exchange, not just a transaction. Unfortunately, Brouke is a textbook example of how ego and poor leadership can ruin a beautiful space. The "Welcome" (or Lack Thereof): The confusion begins at the street. Two white pylons explicitly state "Brouke Parking." As a first time visitor on a motorcycle, I followed your own signage. Instead of a professional greeting, I was met by the owner whose energy was defensive and "wannabe aggressive." He advised me to park on a side that is not visible from the main path (North bound). Whether those spots are reserved for "high end" cars or the owner's personal use, if you label a path with your brand name, you are inviting your customers in. To treat a guest with hostility for following your own signs shows a massive lack of ethics and sub-basic manners. As you noted in your own responses, you want guests to feel "comfortable" my experience was the exact opposite. And saying "sorry you feel that way" doesn't change anything If your signage is misleading and your staff (and owner) react with hostility instead of guidance, you are failing at the most basic level of service. A leader handles confusion with grace; here, the ego clearly overpowered the hospitality. Operational Failures: The "Invisible Guest" Treatment: I walked into the establishment without a single word of welcome, only to be told dismissively by a server that I had to go back outside to order. If you want a specific flow, manage it with hospitality at the door, not attitude after the fact. The "Self-Serve" Paradox: You position yourself as a high-end "wave and sand" mystery cafe, yet you are too cheap to provide table service. Forcing guests to pick up their own orders while charging premium prices is a clear sign of cutting corners. Hygiene & Neglect: We sat at a table covered in the previous customers' garbage for 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged it. Furthermore, the queuing buzzer (Number 11) was visibly filthy and peeling. If you spend your budget on a sand floor but can’t clean the items your guests actually touch, your "atmosphere" is artificial. To the Owner: I’ve read your previous responses to negative reviews from 7+ months ago. You often "respectfully clarify" that these experiences "do not reflect reality." Let’s be clear: My experience is the reality. Using a robotic, whitewashed PR template to gaslight customers doesn't fix a toxic service culture. Accountability is the first step toward improvement. You have a beautiful location, but you are currently "talking the talk" in your replies without "walking the walk" on the floor. I wish this business the best and hope you find the humility to lead with grace rather than ego. Real status isn't about what car sits in your "Brouke Parking" or how many photos people take; it’s about Grace, Dharma, and how you treat people. I hope you find the humility to lead with accountability instead of trying to manipulate the narrative. Until then, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone seeking genuine hospitality. Dear Customer, The parking area mentioned in your review is part of the hotel property, not privately owned by Brouke Cafe. We are permitted to share certain parking zones alongside other hotel guests and businesses within the property. For this reason, traffic and parking directions are managed by the property’s staff — not by Brouke Cafe directly. If you are truly a business owner, then one of the most basic principles should be understanding that motorcycles should not be parked in car parking spaces, and that the duties of security personnel who manage and allocate parking for all guests should be respected. Our business has never discriminated against any customer, and we expect all guests to reasonably follow the parking arrangements provided. In addition, the person you referred to was not a staff member of our café, but a hotel security staff member who was assisting with traffic and parking management during busy hours. Furthermore, the owner has never “reserved” or “blocked off” parking spaces as you falsely claimed, and such statements are highly misleading and damaging to the reputation of the business. Regarding hospitality, we are confident in our service standards. Greeting and welcoming guests is something we consistently emphasize with our team and practice with every customer. If you genuinely feel that you were not greeted, we would appreciate it if you could provide details about the staff member or the time of your visit so we can properly investigate, address the issue, and improve where necessary. Additionally, we have never claimed to be a “high-end” establishment, and asking customers to pick up their own drinks is quite normal for a small café that does not charge a service fee. Regarding our service style, Brouke operates under a semi self-service concept by design. This is part of the cafe experience and operational flow we intentionally chose, similar to many modern cafes internationally. We understand this style may not match everyone’s expectations, and we fully respect that. Lastly, if you were truly this dissatisfied or had concerns during your visit, speaking directly with the manager at the time would have allowed us the opportunity to clarify, assist, or resolve the issue immediately. That would have been far more constructive than posting an excessively insulting and personal attack against the owner and the business afterward. We are always willing to listen to sincere feedback and improve where appropriate. However, we kindly ask that criticism be communicated fairly, factually, and with mutual respect.
