Absolute gem of a place in Gangnam. Whether it be group occasion or chilling alone, it's a great spot. There's always a really friendly atmosphere and it welcomes a pretty diverse crowd, both age and nationality wise. Top service (English language friendly), fresh beer, delightful cocktails and food + music and darts. Mon~Thurs you can make song requests too. *One of the most unintimidating places around if you are visiting alone. Extra rec for solo or small group travellers from abroad.

This pub is very foreigner friendly!! Very chill vibe, great food and drinks Bartenders are very friendly too, they keep you company if you are here alone highly recommended!! Price per person: ₩30,000–40,000

So I’m traveling on business — first time to Korea — and I’m in the Gangnam area. Half exhausted from a marathon Asia work tour, I’m not quite ready to go to bed, fearing I’ll just roll around. A beer and some food, that’s what I need. Walking down the main road, I pass the bar the hotel recommended, where a beer will be $20, and I see a little street with lots of light and plenty of foot traffic: seems promising. Funky cool street with lots of options for food and entertainment. Massage parlor with a bar — no thanks. Then I see Bulldog pub. Looks inviting and respectable. When I entered I was transported back to the states. The bartender greeted me enthusiastically, and the usuals around the bar immediately reminded me of the old TV show, Cheers!. Long story short, I had great service, good food, and a really nice time. Worth a stop for any weary traveler who wants a warm and welcoming spot to have a beer and a bite.
