I came by Butter Town, which specialises in shio pans. What I really liked is that the base of the shio pans are crispy, almost reminiscent of croissants. For the sweet option, I got the kaya shio pan ($2.80). The sweetness of the kaya paired well with the buttery, crispy base. I also tried the garlic cheese shio pan ($2.80), which I would recommend — it's really garlicky and savoury, and great value for the price. The aburi mentaiko onion shio pan ($5.20) is one of the pricier options, but it's worth it. You get onion slices tucked inside the shio pan, while the mentai sauce on top adds a creamy, savoury layer. However, I would not recommend the truffle cheese mushroom shio pan ($4). The entire shio pan was super oily, which overwhelmed the other flavours. Overall, Butter Town is a solid spot if you're looking for a quick savoury snack.
