Salted egg tart was pretty good. The crust was crisp without being too hard, although it tended towards brittle in the past few bites. Egg custard was soft and moist, far removed from the pudding-like consistency some tarts have. The salted egg portion was good, but a little underwhelming. It too was moist, but in a viscous paste form. It only tasted of salted egg when I got to the center bit.

Ready to indulge ? Lau Pa Sat is the food heaven in heart of Singapore. A landmark on tourist schedules and a heritage site (also known for famous Satay Street which is very famous with tourists, Lau Pa Sat can safely boast of all sorts of food variety from the region. Singapore, as I observed, has strong presence of cake and pastry shops. They are everywhere. Butter & Cream Bakery is one such nice place in Lau Pa Sat and is well known for quality offerings. You will need to visit them more than once to try some of their mouth watering bakery items. Price per person: SGD 1–10 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Not sure. Dietary restrictions: Not sure.
