It was a rainy Monday when I flew into Incheon International Airport. I hopped into a cab and told the driver to take me straight to “Byeokje Galbi Tower Palace” in Gangnam, Seoul for a lunch meet up with a friend. He said, “Oh! Very nice place—and very expensive!” The restaurant was on the ground floor of the building. My friend and I walked in hauling my luggage, when a server said “Let me take care of your things, sir.” They gave us a table by the window overlooking the terrace! The ambience was superb. The servers immediately prepared our lunch with all the available sides, and the piece de resistance—the marinated beef short ribs grilled in front of us! The most amazing beef galbi I’ve had so far! What a great first lunch in Seoul since my last visit there as a college student!
