Wonderful stay at Coco Canopy Boutique Resort! I had an amazing stay at Coco Canopy Boutique Resort and truly loved every part of my experience. The service from all staff members was outstanding — everyone was warm, professional, and always willing to help. The room was spotless, very comfortable, and beautifully designed in harmony with nature. I slept incredibly well every night. The restaurant was a highlight of the stay — the food was delicious and full of flavor. The resort is surrounded by lush greenery, creating a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing and reconnecting with nature. It’s just a short and easy walk to the beach, where you can enjoy one of the most beautiful sunset views — absolutely breathtaking and romantic. This place is ideal for: Honeymoon couples looking for privacy, romance, and tranquility Nature lovers who enjoy peaceful surroundings and tropical scenery Digital nomads with strong and reliable Wi-Fi to work comfortably Coco Canopy Boutique Resort is truly a perfect place to relax, recharge, and heal both body and mind. This would be a five star review if the value for money was improved overall. We are a couple in our mid thirties who spent 3 nights here. The hotel seems mostly frequented by couples with babies or very young children; and older couples. The island is known for its tranquility so it didn't surprise us, we were also looking to relax. Things we enjoyed: Beautiful, comfortable and clean pool Very peaceful, amidst nature Gorgeous garden, many birds to see / hear A lot of natural building- and decoration materials used Beautiful spacious bungalow and porch (we had the "suite") Open bathroom concept (showering under the stars!) Foot rinsing basin at entrance of the bungalow Great aircon Early check-in was possible free of charge Free pick-up and drop-off at the pier Scooter rental available (300thb/day) To improve: Breakfast Pest management Eco consciousness Deplorable WiFi throughout the property Service level Detailed review: The breakfast is limited, and it's what bugged us the most. Every day you choose from the same menu of oatmeal porridge, muesli with yoghurt, plain chicken noodle soup, or 2 toast with eggs and sausages. Breakfast comes with a small lemon or orange juice, always the same cut fruit and a small americano. It's tasty enough, but you want some water, a second coffee, or a latte instead of an americano? You pay extra. For 170eur a night, I found this outrageous. There should at the very least be a free choice of coffee, and coffee refills included. Service is generally slow and a bit unattentive. The pool area is often tidied or cleaned only late at night; leaving empty shake glasses, soda cans and coffee cups to marinate in the sun all day. I also expect rooms to be serviced daily at this price point; and not only upon request. The system to bill your food and drinks to the room is faulty; we almost end up paying +1000THB too much at checkout for food and drinks we didn't have. Another thing that keeps on baffling me is a total disregard for implementing simple eco-conscious swaps in hotels - especially since we're on an island that has to offshore its trash to the mainland for recycling or landfill (!!!) Please offer water refills via a water tank at the reception instead of 2 daily small bottles of water in the room - put a glass refillable bottle of water in the room if you must. Use reusable bamboo or metal straws instead of plastic ones. Just these two swaps would make such a positive impact on tourism trash generation already - and the initial investment pays itself back soon enough. Another improvement is pest control. We loved the semi-open bathroom concept, but it allows for many flies, mosquitoes and even cockroaches... to enter the semi-open part. We realise we're in nature so we didn't let it ruin our experience, but it's something to be mindful of. By default equipping rooms with mosquito repellent spray and putting incense coils to burn in the evening around the garden and bungalow porches and open bathrooms could help. Also consider closing off fully the luggage/clothes/washbasin semi-open area (as to not find a big cockroach in your toiletries in the morning...) Massages at the hotel are double the price of mainland/other islands, there are no massage parlours on the island. Laundry service is offered at 100thb per kilo; we went to the hotel next door who offered the same service for 80thb per kilo (still pricey vs mainland/other islands; but there are few alternatives if you need to get laundry done). We also decided to go elsewhere for our second and third coffee of the day; there are a couple of cute places up and down the road (local coffee, caff bar, luboa). All in all, we had a pleasant stay and would still recommend, if you don't mind paying the premium. It seems to be one of the best options on the island if you value having a pool. Service: 4
