I stopped by with some friends at Café Golden at the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre. It was a nice café, but more than that, it felt like a neighborhood place. Not the kind of café built only for tourists, or for people passing through with cameras and a list. This had regulars. Familiar faces. People who seemed to know the rhythm of the room. You could feel the art around it. Not in a forced way. Not as decoration. More like a residue from the building itself, the studios, the old factory bones, the people who make things nearby. The space had that quiet creative charge that good neighborhoods sometimes have when they have not been completely polished out of themselves. I was only a tourist, but it did not make me feel like one. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

This was a perfect cafe in CCAC. The staff was so friendly and sweet, even offering me the iPad to take my order (and encouraging me to take my time picking) when I didn’t have WiFi to virtually see the menu. The ambiance was lovely and next to a great tea house. I had the matcha latte and shrimp pasta, both fantastic, delicious, and fresh. Would 10/10 recommend coming here if you’re in the area!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Last Saturday, I took a stroll around the Jockey Club Créative Arts Centre, and visited the cafe by happenstance I instantly ordered a cup of mocha without hesitation, and liked the atmosphere of the cafe. Its exact location is fitting and aesthetic, especially when the Centre is already embedded within the community, and makes me think a lot about inclusivity and diversity in urban planning! The Golden Cafe is definitely worth visiting, and I only wish that I could have more time because I’m interested in trying the pasta Price per person: $50–100 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
