Kudos to one of our Apple Caffe Mac Chef, Jeff Ooi for saving my leg from a potential prawn allergic reaction as firstly I’m allergic to prawns and secondly, I need to avoid seafood with shells due to the extensive wounds on the leg. Don’t want another trip back to the hospital after being hospitalised for 3 weeks+. So initially I ordered seafood paofan (rice soaked in a bowl of soup with all the ingredients) minus the prawns & scallops, only fish cos I thought it was just normal fish soup. Then Chef Jeff stopped me from collecting my bowl. He said he boiled the soup with prawn shells so I better not eat due to the condition of my leg. He said they will cancel & refund my order. Then he proceeded to tell me what are safe for me to eat at the mixed rice stall so I ordered 3 veggies without rice. Thanks to Chef Jeff for being so observant as well as very caring about us staff who are ordering lunch at the Caffe Mac. Otherwise, had I really eaten the bowl of rice with fish in prawn soup unknowingly, it would have been disastrous on my leg. Awesome job! Excellent work ethics! Much appreciated.
