Frankly, this was my first time visiting. I happened to hear one of your staff recommend the outlet, praising the beautiful team, good food, and excellent service. Her recommendation made it irresistible for me not to come and try it the following week. As I am not a Chinese food lover, I brought along my two mothers. I was pleasantly surprised by their appetite this time, especially compared to when I usually bring them to Japanese or Korean restaurants. They were truly pleased.We were also very impressed by the consistency of the service. We will definitely return, not only because of the food, but also because of Grace’s kind words and her constant attentiveness throughout our visit. Bravo to the entire team for their outstanding service, and the food is definitely the reason we will keep coming back. Strangely for all the years Nex has been open i have never tried the Canton Paradise here. Armed with that in mind and previous experiences at other outlets i ventured forth with my parents in toll for a late Dim Sum lunch. TBH, my most recent experience with CP at Compass was just a little above average. So I wasn't expecting much, but thank goodness the Nex branch was much better, not just in food quality and taste, service and ambience too, however I the table i was seated at was a little darker than the rest of the stall, my phone camera had to adjust to a longer exposure to get brighter pictures. Other than that everything else was spot on. Our century egg porridge came first and was wiped clean almost immediately hence the lack of a photo. I like the clean taste of the congee, the century egg too was on point accompanied by ultra crisp youtiao, if only there were more. Next were the deep fried prawns wrapped in beancurd skin, a staple of mine and the version here was definitely way above average, light yet with a juicy snappy prawn paste centre, the beancurd was expertly fried to perfection. Then came the XO carrot cake which was OK, it needed a little more wok hey and maybe alot more XO sauce to give it that kick I crave. I did like the chee cheong fun though packed full of charsiew, the cheong fun skin was silky smooth and extremely thin. The steamed dishes like siew mai, har kow and pork ribs were just above average. I ordered the Lotus Leaf Rice for my Dad and that was pretty well executed, the Lotus leaf aroma was firmly entrenched into the rice while the ingredients inside the pouch were plentiful giving the dish added bite. Finally we got down to the Baked BBQ Char Siew Buns, this is a Tim Ho Wan benchmark and thus far most places usually pale in comparison, but here at CP I was surprised, it was actually pretty good, not as robust as THW but it was on a lighter side but with a filling that was practically oozing out the moment you take a bite, the bun was atill crisp outside with a soft inside and it was alot less oily than the THW version,my mom preferred this though. Overall a pretty good experience, I know where I will be headed for all-day Dim Sum now. Price per person: SGD 30–40 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
