If you're looking for a truly wholesome and nourishing meal in Cheongju, Chamsari Duck Restaurant is an absolute gem. Specializing in Korean-style duck dishes, this place elevates traditional flavors with sincerity and high-quality ingredients. The banchan (side dishes) were few but thoughtfully curated. One that stood out to me was the mu-haepari-muchim, a seasoned jellyfish and radish salad that's not commonly found elsewhere. Its unique texture and clean, refreshing flavor made it especially memorable. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I tried the 오리백숙 (duck soup with herbs) for the first time and was blown away. It had a rich yet clean flavor that felt almost medicinal in the best way like a comforting, home-cooked bo-yang-sik (Korean nourishing food). It’s the kind of meal that feels like it’s doing your body good with every bite. This is a place I'd love to bring my parents to.
