(Mie Kuah) $65 — A Texture Never Tried Before. This bowl of noodles offers a flavor I have never experienced before. The toppings are piled high, and every bite is a surprise. The ingredients have a chewy, springy texture unlike anything I have tried previously. The noodles themselves are even more special, somewhat reminiscent of Indomie, but not soft like instant noodles. Instead, they are on the thinner side, with a unique al dente bite and firmness that is completely different from typical Hong Kong-style fresh noodles or Japanese ramen. This texture is precisely the hallmark of Indonesian Chinese-style noodle dishes, reflecting the local pursuit of noodle quality. (Mie Goreng Seafood) $65 — The More Flavorful Choice. The same noodles, but when stir-fried, they absorb even more flavor. There is no shortage of seafood, with two pieces of squid and shrimp, plenty of wok hei, and a rich taste. I personally prefer this one, as the fried noodle sauce better brings out the character of the noodles, with every mouthful being a perfect blend of spices and soy sauce. During the meal, the diners at the next table were very friendly. When chatting with us, they mentioned that Indonesian fried noodles (Mie Goreng) are actually a well-known dish from the Indonesian Chinese community. Years ago, when Chinese immigrants moved to Indonesia, they brought techniques for making noodles and soy sauce, then combined them with local Indonesian spices to create the unique flavor we know today. This kind of atmosphere made the entire meal feel warmer and more meaningful. However, to be honest, the environment is quite cramped and not particularly clean. Loved it!!! Grew up eating indomie and so glad to try the handmade version. Fried noodles with seafood so smoky with wok hei. Love the texture of the noodles too, chewy but soft and not like akaline. Almost like pasta meets wonton noodles meets e fu noodles. Love the table condiments for you to add and adjust. Indo sweet soy sauce, white vinegar, sambal, fish sauce etc. My fav is the white pepper and white vinegar. Seafood topping is nice but nothing special, noodles are where it’s at. Fish cake but cakey too. Tried my friend’s bakmie and wow the lard makes the noodles very yummy. Also tried rujak for the first time. So interesting to see cucumbers, pineapples and apple in a salad with a peanut shrimp paste sauce with tamarind and palm sugar! Sweet, savoury, kinda spicy, and very crunchy. Really yummy with the melinjo chips too. Great value!!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100

A delicious and authentic bakmie singkawang spot! Though a little too much vinegar for me, the taste was spot on and they were generous with the topping and portion. Their service was nice and fast. The place is not big, best if you go with groups of 4 people. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
