When you think about a bowl of Japanese don , what must it have? Simply 3 essential ingredient, a well seasoned meat, some Japanese ice, with a dash of mini sides, right? Cheeky Don’s don fulfills all 3 essentials pretty well, in fact I dare say they perfected since my last visit a few years ago. Firstly, the meat. I had the chance to try their yang guifei char siew don. For people whom don’t know me, I make my own char siew at home at times, because I am very particular in my charsiew. Cheeky don’s hits the sweet spot where the meat well marinated to the point it is not overly too oily, yet the meat part I can see they use the good fatty pork parts when each slice gives me that juicy, succulent satisfaction, as it goes well with a spoonful of rice. Speaking about rice, they fried it with some mushrooms to create that aroma, but that’s not my point. My point is the rice is so soft in each mouthful, the last time i remember this feeling as when I had Changi Nasi lemak rice many years ago. Third, fried king mushroom,a cold lotus side and a bowl of soup(refillable) in the CBD area of suntec, the prices really makes it a bang for the buck. don was really nice, i got their seasonal item, kobe pork donburi. pork was caramelised nicely, crispy on the outside, chewy and tender on the inside. side dishes and garnishes included with the don is also well done. staff was very welcoming and friendly, even refilled my miso soup for me :) Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian options: available!

Purposely come over to try their Kobe Pork Donburi Set after watching the Owner show it on TikTok, very nice indeed and the matching of the rice was prefect. Also try their Kakigori very soft like snow feel melted in your mouth. Will be back again for more. There is also for vegan type which is really affordable set. Come support your local foodie owner! Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Vegans
