On a recent trip to Singapore, I was keen to revisit Chettinadu Restaurant well-known for its mutton intestine dish, which I’d thoroughly enjoyed a few years ago. Unfortunately, this time around, the dish was nowhere to be found and the overall quality had declined significantly. The other dishes were bland and lacked the distinctive flavours I remembered. Even the Rasam was insipid and failed to impress. It seems there may have been a change in chef or management, as the food and service standards have noticeably dropped. To add to the disappointment, the cleanliness of the venue left much to be desired. Given my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone, regardless of how affordable it is. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30

Disappointing Dining Experience I recently visited Chettinad Restaurant and was highly disappointed with the overall service and hygiene. The hospitality was poor, with staff being inattentive and slow. I ordered a drink, but it never arrived even after waiting 30 minutes. Additionally, the cleanliness of the restaurant was subpar, making the dining experience unpleasant. For a restaurant serving Chettinad cuisine (which is usually amazing), the lack of basic service and hygiene standards was surprising. Hope they improve soon. Rating: (2/5)
