Returned to this quaint joint as I remembered the amazing fried prawns with creamy buttery sauce and crispy batter (brought my colleagues to try and one of them kept raving about it). The fried kai lan was cooked impeccably and we had a hearty bowl of soup (the kind you craved with homecooked goodness). The pork trotter dish was delicious too and done a different style from traditional version. What I really love about the place (besides great food) is its USP - basically you help yourself to set up your own tableware and cutlery, take your own drinks from the chiller... as if its your own home. Because the chef is one man show, you also get the sense of private dining. Do make a reservation prior to visiting via WhatsApp. I have read mixed reviews on price being on the steep side yet conclusion is, if we pay for 5 Star restaurant overheads (rent, staff etc), why not pay for a quality meal whereby every single dish is prepared specially for you and that interaction beats the fluff of posh dining. PS: The Ipoh hor fun is really good and will be returning for more of my favourite dishes. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
