A great institution in Mui Wo for locals and visitors! Try the stuffed squid or the burger. There's a special menu you can try, too. Very much recommended post-hike. Skip a ferry or two...

I've been going to the China Bear for more than 20 years and always feel at home here. The service is generally prompt, the beer is plentiful and cold, and the food very good - generally English style with some Greek fusion items since the new owner came aboard. Their pork stuffed squid served on a sizzling platter is a signature dish that we always enjoy. The outdoor seating section offers good views over Silvermine Bay, especially at sunset. It can get rowdy, noisy, and smoky especially on Friday and Saturday nights, but it's a bar. My only suggestions are they bring back the Sunday roast, an amazing tradition that seems to come and go, and that they return Erdenger to the list of draft beer. It is sorely missed. Enjoy this refuge from an all-too complicated world and savour another ale while you await the ferry. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
