My fiancée and I stopped by for some post-dinner gyozas. Resto is conveniently located right next to Toyoko Inn which is where we were staying. It had odd hours because when we first arrived at the hotel in the afternoon we noticed it was closed and then it was open later in the evening until late night. The owner greeted us warmly as we walked in and handed us menus right away. The menu was really expansive and had so many featured items but since we had dinner already we sent in multiple gyoza orders. He was trying to recommend some of the main entrées on the menu to us but I told him via Google translate audio that we had just come from eating dinner. This is when he chuckled (prolly though we were a bunch of gluttons LOOOOL). Resto was tiny. Literally a long bar table pinned to the wall. Multiple trays with homemade chili oil and sauce. You get to make your own dipping sauce. These gyozas were PLUMP. Most of the gyozas you order in Japan are smaller than typical chinese dumplings but these were pretty THICCC which I loved. Super juicy filling, thin wrappers and not overly crisped on the edges (which is more common than you think in Japan). Definitely some of the best gyozas we had (and from a Chinese place eh. Go Figure). The drinks were also extremely cheap. I thought it the listed yen price was a typo at first but no. It was actually $2 CAD for a massive beer. Regrettably we were quite full after the gyoza so we didn't order any drinks but if we had a couple extra night stays in Ningyocho, I would've prolly slid in for a couple tall ones.
