Deep in the mountains, we stumbled upon an unexpected touch of Japanese Zen at Chiso-ya Khitai. Stepping through the red Torii gate surrounded by a blooming garden, it feels like entering another world. Sitting in the breezy, open-air wooden dining room with Japanese lanterns swaying gently, you look out to the lush Thai wilderness. This beautiful juxtaposition instantly makes you want to slow down. We treated ourselves to a beautifully plated sashimi boat, perfectly crispy shrimp tempura, comforting beef udon, and delicate seared sushi. In the cool mountain breeze of Khao Yai, this refined Japanese feast was exactly what our souls needed. No rushing, no crowded tourist traps—just pure focus on the serene views and exquisite tastes.
