The radish and yam cakes from this charming little store at sunset way has been there for decades. We order them every Chinese New Year as gifts for family and friends, and they’re always a massive hit. Perfect for a satisfying lunch or a quick snack throughout the day. Slice them to your preferred size and lightly pan-fry until the edges are golden and crispy while the inside stays soft. That’s how we do it! I have never seen the owner smile, but I guess that’s part of the charm! Meal type: Brunch Price per person: SGD 10–20 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Cakes, Pan Fried Radish Cake, Radish Cake and Yam Cake Vegetarian options: I have never tired the vege cake. Will do so one day.

Their Black Forest Cake is hands down one of the best I’ve had — rich, balanced, and always a crowd favourite. My colleagues absolutely love it. Personally, I can’t resist their pistachio cake, which is beautifully made and incredibly satisfying without being overly sweet. What I appreciate most, however, is how this bakery continues to honour tradition. In a world where many bakeries focus only on trendy pastries and desserts, they still take pride in making traditional savoury favourites like yam cake, pumpkin cake, and radish cake. These are increasingly hard to find done well, and it’s heartening to see a business preserving these heritage flavours. Great cakes, authentic traditional treats, and genuine passion for their craft. We should continue supporting businesses like this — they’re becoming far too rare. We recently celebrated my grandfather's birthday and ordered his favourite from classic cakes – their classic black forest cake. It was moist, full of cherries and the cream was light and fresh. It was enjoyed by the whole table and even some of the restaurant staff! I always recommend classic cakes anytime someone is looking for a black forest cake Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
